About Kelly

I am a University of Missouri graduate. I earned my undergrad in political science and my masters in public administration. Upon graduation, I took a bi-partisan job in the Missouri Senate and became a Houseparent at the Rainbow House, a crisis shelter for children in Columbia.

For the last nine years, I have worked in the Capitol in constituent services and policy. I served as Legislative Liaison for Senator Sidney Johnson, Director of Legislation for former Minority Leader Jeff Harris and I currently work for the Minority Caucus Secretary Sara Lampe.

My husband Loren Schultz teaches food animal medicine at the University Vet School. Loren and I are Boone County foster parents and we finalized the adoption of our foster daughter Brianna last June. We have had nine foster children and I am very proud to say that our 17 year old passed his GED and enrolled in college courses; our 18 year old is the first in his family to graduate from high school.

My family and I live northeast of Columbia outside of Shaw. We attend Trinity Lutheran in Columbia where I play in the handbell choir and Loren is on the Board of Elders.
